The Tillsonburg Horticultural Society and Tillsonburg Station Arts Centre annual joint garden tour project held on Saturday, June 12 here in Tillsonburg provided a one-of-a-kind opportunity to see amazing local gardens while simultaneously enjoying local art and music. There were a total of nine stops on the tour including seven gardens at private homes, the gardens at Annandale National Historic Site, and Tillsonburg Garden Gate Nursery. Summer at Ramblin’ Road Brewery Farm
Tillsonburg Horticultural Society members enjoyed an amazing outing to Ramblin Road Brewery Farm in August this year (2019) to tour the fields, enjoy a glass of craft beer and a delicious barbecue buffet supper complete with Irish entertainment by Paddy Stones, plus a garden tour at Patty Picard’s home. Sunflowers and Photos plus Tour Sign-Up on Nov. 7
Hilde Makkink of Makkink Sunflower Farms in Tillsonburg will be demonstrating decorating ideas at the November 7 meeting of the Tillsonburg Horticultural Society. Three lucky draw winners will each take home one of her demonstration creations.
Also on November 7 the winners of the Annual Photography Contest will be announced and entries will be displayed. There are three categories of entries including Sunset, Scenery, and Sesquicentennial.
Lastly this is your opportunity to sign up for the Christmas Coach Tour to Bayfield and Goderich featuring the Maple Leaf Chapter of the IODE’s Christmas House Tour of five Goderich homes. Also included is a Breakfast Buffet at the Bayfield Berry Farm and a delicious dinner at Stone Willow Inn’s Wildstone Restaurant in St. Marys.
2018 Horticultural Society memberships will be on sale at the November meeting and the cost remains constant at $15 each. This membership will be valid through until the end of 2018.
