In The Community

The Tillsonburg Horticultural Society is involved in the community in several ways including through the gardens that we tend at different locations throughout the town including the Royal Canadian Legion, the Senior Centre and Annandale House. These efforts and the the more than $8,000 spent on plants, trees and related materials help to beautify our community. Many society volunteers are involved in these efforts. For a complete list of gardens click on Community Gardens.

More than 200 children participate in our Junior Gardeners program each year. For information about this program select the Junior Gardeners tab.

The Tillsonburg Horticultural Society sponsors a Glendale High School Scholarship for a graduating student each year and supports the competitions program of the Tri-County Agricultural Society and the Tillsonburg Fair.

It’s reciprocal. Many area businesses, garden centres and nurseries support our gardening efforts in the community through donations to our Annual Garden Auction each May. The Garden Auction raises funds to support Horticultural Society activities. Take a look at our Garden Auction Donors list.

And then area nurseries and garden centres support our members and their own gardening efforts by offering discounts on plant materials. Click on Garden Centres offering Discounts for a complete list.

In the larger community there is a huge number of organizations, businesses and individuals that offer exceptional gardening information and experiences. Choose the Links option for a look at just a few.
